Academic Calendar for SEAS Graduate Students
This calendar lists important dates for the current and upcoming terms including: term start & end dates, registration periods, course add/drop date, break and observed holidays.
Contains the three forms for the Biotechnology Program: laboratory waiver, statistics waiver, and the BIOT599 independent study registration. Details regarding these forms can be found on the individual links to each form. There is also a link on there for SEAS forms including the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) information.
Log in for the course system. Support for students including basic information and guides can be found here: Canvas Guides. Not all courses use Canvas. You will need to check with the instructor of the course if you should have access to a Canvas Course page that is not showing up for you.
Career Services counselors are available to discuss concerns regarding career planning and job hunting during appointments, walk-ins and mock interviews.
Student portal to complete online registration, worksheets & schedule planning, billing/payment information, direct deposit, student loan and financial aid status.
The forms listed are to request a leave of absences (LOA), withdrawal from a course, requesting a letter, transfer of credit, CPT registration, etc.

Ceremony information and visitor information. An email regarding the upcoming graduation will be sent at the beginning of the term from the Academic Programs Office (APO). Graduation is maintained and run by SEAS APO.

Current SEAS Master’s degree tuition costs. If you have specific questions regarding your bill, you will need to contact the Student Financial Services (SFS) Office.
Using the right hand links you can view the course rosters, final exam schedule, classroom information, transcripts, etc.
If you need to request a transcript, you will need to do so by using the ‘Transcript Request Form‘ through the University’s Registrar. The Biotechnology Program Office cannot issue a transcript.

ISSS will help new students with immigration regulations, cultural adjustments, visa and employment options.
International students must maintain full-time status taking 3.0 credit units or more. Anything 2.99 credit units and below, you must request a RCL.
The BSA is the coordinating student body charged with representing all students enrolled in the Master’s in Biotechnology program. BSA monitors issues of importance to the student community, sponsor academic, cultural, and social events of interest to the student community, and organize programs to enhance the quality of student life. All students within the Master’s in Biotechnology program automatically become members of BSA while enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania and are encouraged to participate in BSA activities. The Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA)
GAPSA is the official student government body for graduate and professional students at Penn, representing over 10,000 students across twelve graduate schools. GAPSA sometimes has funds available for travel, research, initiatives, and events.
Penn Engineering Masters Advisory Board (EMAB)
EMAB is a liaison between administration and masters students. Create events including career-building workshops, networking events and other professional events for Engineering Masters students.Facebook page.
PBG is a student-run, cross-disciplinary club based at the University of Pennsylvania with the mission of promoting education and awareness regarding the many facets of biotechnology, including science, business, law, and medicine. The club draws members from the life sciences community of Southeastern Pennsylvania, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs at Penn (SEAS, SAS, PSOM, Wharton, Law). PBG also has activities that educate the membership regarding industry basics, current events and career opportunities; networking events; hands-on consulting projects at local life sciences businesses; and supporting the growth of biotechnology and related industries in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region.
Graduate Student Engineering Group (GSEG)
GSEG represents all graduate and professional students enrolled in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. They host programs to enhance the quality of graduate and professional student life and monitor issues of importance to the student community.
